A talented singer not only is blessed with the ability to entertain but also to move the emotions it's listeners. One vocalist that has built a reputation for mesmerizing the masses with her angelic voice is the Philadelphia-native known as Treya.
Treya was raised in a middle-class area in known as Wynnefield. She first became an avid singer at the tender age of nine just prior to joining her church choir and embarked upon it as a career upon graduating from Penn State University as a business major. One of the qualities that separate her from other musicians is her understanding that music starts with a spiritual connection and her love for connecting to that source. She is a student of the Guitar, with goals of incorporating those skills into her music. Another thing that separates her from other singers is her ear for heaven's lyrics.
"My style can be described as a cross between Gospel and a Christian Contemporary element," she said.
Treya grew up around music to the point to where it would’ve been extremely hard for her to not embrace it. Her grandfather was the Head of Security at WDAS radio and played an intricate role in her wanting to embark upon a career in music. He would often allow her to attend special events with him that was sponsored by the radio station. She also received autographed albums from mainstream artists as he would often invite them over for dinner. Some of her cousins were members of the legendary group, “The Stylistics”.
Some of the producers that helped to shape her signature sound, includes: Ryan "Ghost" Bowser and LAEL.
She is also influenced by the intimate worship experience that guides her into a atmosphere of God's presence. Influenced by legendary Cece Winans, who spawned her to become a stellar writer and to fully embrace the gospel sound. Another singer who greatly influenced her is Tye Tribbett.
In the Spring of 2022, Treya was given the opportunity to meet Jason Mcgee and join the Maverick City Gospel Choir. Which later lead to participate in the Maverick City and Kirk Franklin Kingdom tour.
Treya is currently registered with BMI and will be releasing her upcoming self titled album this Fall. She recently began promotion on her first three singles, "Love Is Eternity", "Let Me Live" and "See You" with EP Release set for January 2024. She is definitely a focused artist, with a great mind who will continue to bless the world with her tremendous voice.
